"When it comes to temperatures the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Hybrid Gaming video card idled at 23C on our open air test bench and got up to 40C when gaming for over an hour non-stop. These are very impressive GPU temperatures thanks to the water cooling solution!"

"In our early testing, the EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Superclocked was practically silent – even under load (the fan had a very faint, audible whir when spun up), and temperatures were a non-issue. Under load, the GPU temperature hovered in the high 70’C – 80’C range, a few degrees shy of the default 83’C temperature target."

"...I can't even hear the card because the fans are not running very quickly at all temperatures hit a max of 78...and our fan speed never we above 44%, so if you run this card with a custom fan profile, set the fan at 60% and you can hardly hear it, and our temps are at 66c in Doom maxed out at 4k."

"EVGA has installed their epic-looking ACX 3.0 heatsink onto this card and the results really do speak for themselves. It is able to maintain a temperature of just 75°C despite the Superclocked’s increased clock speeds, which is significantly better than what the reference card could lay claim to."

"What you do get is a respectable factory core overclock, a well made and good looking card, and a premium cooling solution that makes good use of its slightly boosted size to remain very quiet in all situations. The extra power circuitry credentials may appeal to some as well, and the RGB lighting and exclusive features in Precision XOC are neat too. Ultimately, the GTX 1080 FTW makes a compelling case for you to opt for it instead of the similarly priced Founders Edition"

"All overclocks were achieved using EVGA Precision XOC which I feel is one of the best laid out and through overclocking tools in the industry. It is laid out very well and easy to use, all its functions can be found in the GUI without guessing what tab to click to get you where you want to be, OSD always works, fan options actually set the correct fan curves and voltage regulation is simple and undaunted. Compared to other OC tools even with other manufacturers cards for personal use I have always found myself reverting back to Precision X. ACX 3.0 Cooling with RGB LED is one of the most efficient cooling systems on the market and the RGB will make your case as happy as a pig in … (well you know). The EVGA 1080 FTW comes with one of the highest factory overclocked GPUs in its price point. At this time no other single GPU on the market can outperform the GTX 1080."

"The EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 Superclocked is an impressive card. Not only does it have a better cooler and has a higher clock than the Founders Edition, the noise levels are very impressive even when we compare it to other custom cards. Under load it only produces 33 dB(A), making it one of the quietest cards of this caliber that we have ever tested. At the same time the cooling efficiency is excellent as well"

"Speaking of the fan noise from the ACX 3.0 cooler on the 1070 the noise level during gaming was completely muffled by a case and I did not notice an increase in system noise under normal loads. The temperatures of the 1070 also remained well within limits not exceeding 72 degrees when letting the card automatically manager temperatures. I did test the card at 100% fan speed as I always like to in order to gauge how loud a cooler is. In this instance the noise level was still at a comfortable level."

"I personally feel it's worth waiting for a GTX 1070. The GTX 1070 consumes less power and includes more graphics memory than previous generation gaming cards (though the Titan X does offer 12GB). It's likely the GTX 1070 will outperform last generation cards in newer games as those arrive on the scene. So unless you're in dire need of a new graphics card, hold onto your wallet and wait for GTX 1070 availability to loosen up."

"With the GeForce 1070 SuperClocked edition, EVGA has proven that it is able to create one of the best looking cards on the market, by incorporating the efficient and quiet ACX 3.0 cooling system which also stands out thanks to the LED lighting system. Until the card is reaching about 53 degrees Celsius, the fans will stay completely off in order to provide absolute silence while working in a 2D environment; also, being a SuperClocked variant means that the card has been tweaked from the factory with higher clocks than stock Nvidia cards and also features quite a big overclocking headroom as we have seen from our tests."

"It’s a great card and I think it is an improvement in every way over the Founders Edition 1070 that is priced at the same price point. I wouldn’t say that about any of the other GTX 1070’s as I normally feel like the Founders Editions do typically stand out in quality even though their cooling and overall performance isn’t as good. The EVGA cards this generation seem to be the cards to beat!"

It also shows that it plays well with older titles that demand a lot from a graphics card, such as Rise of the Tomb Raider and Crysis 3.
